Although there is no cure for age related macular degeneration, there are age related macular degeneration  treatments that may prevent vision loss or slow the progression considerable.  One very popular option is the use of vitamins used in in the AREDS studies.  This study shoes the for most individuals, vitamins C, E, beta-carotene, zinc, and copper helps decrease the risk of the loss of vision in people with intermediate to advanced dry age-related macular degeneration

Now that this is becoming a more known disease due to the AREDS studies 1 and 2, many over the counter AREDS macular degeneration vitamins based on the study are now readily available.
